Strengthening Our Nation was founded by Ryan Bugler,
a Mental Health & Addiction Councilor.

I left counselling to take on my new role as a Freelance Consultant it was my dream to one-day travel North America and provide Counselling services and workshops to Indigenous Professionals, Organizations and Communities.

This has always been a goal of mine.

"I feel that I have found my purpose early on in life. In my younger years I grew up facing many traumatic life experiences, which I share in my workshops. I attended Day School and three years of Residential School. I also grew up on the Red Pheasant Cree Nation in a broken home and with out a father. I was raised primarily by my mother. I’ve experienced racism too many times to count, alcoholism, depression, and I was in and out of the Justice system from 13 -19 years old.

I finally realized at 19 years old when I had my oldest son, that I needed to change my ways.

My spirit wasn't completely broken but I had experienced enough and I still wanted more for my life.

I knew that I couldn't have done it alone. I am grateful for the supports

that had bought me through the rough times and I would someday do for others what someone had done for me."

With new jobs and new career paths, the dream of being able to

help people and also train others started slowly slipping away.

I soon found myself working for organizations offering tons of value but still knowing that I could help more people If I just offered my value and knowledge on a broader scale.

Ultimately, I was racially stereotyped and harassed by a supervisor at an organization and decided that I wasn’t truly happy working in a box and in laterally violent environments. I knew that I needed to make change and impact others.

True happiness comes when you are living your purpose.

Although I enjoyed my job counselling for organizations it was limited to who I could help.

I knew there had to be a way to realign my current path with my purpose.

I saw that as a counsellor, I could only reach people one at a time, in one community at a time.

That was when I decided to walk through my fear of self doubt

I quickly got to work combining my knowledge as a counsellor and integrated workshops geared toward helping Indigenous Professionals and youth. My desire was to reveal their potential and help set their sights on goals and show them tools to use that will help them achieve their dreams.

I realized I spent the last 17 years crafting my trade working and helping other organizations by developing programs for them and also offering my professional Counselling services. I decided to help others on a broader scale.

I came up with my signature workshops—Strengthening Our Nation Indigenous Train The Trainer and Youth Identity & Empowerment workshops.

Strengthening Our Nation Indigenous Train The Trainer is a 3 Day Live hands on training, focused on a variety of information to help other professionals deliver programing to their organizations and communities.

Some of the topics include, my experience and what I have used to help others, culture and programing; circle checks and facilitation; applying Treaties and Indigenous history as a teaching tool; how and when to use energizers; how to create programming that works for you, your style of facilitation; a template and format that is proven to help others in recovery and wholistic wellness approach.

Not being able to speak your language is a form of intergenerational trauma and loss of Identity. This is also covered in the Youth workshops, along with the subconscious mind, reprograming the subconscious mind and goal setting secrets.

Anyone who has taken this training will attest to the fact that the name Strengthening Our Nation does exactly that.

The workshops found many successes, helping hundreds of people.

We are able to provide working professionals and young people with tools and strategies to help them break free from the cycle of dependency that has plagued them as a result of inter generational trauma. The workshops have also aided in gaining self confidence and a broader understanding of current circumstances.

This is by no means a cure or a magic pill, but it is helping and people of all ages apply strategies within the trainings to their daily lives.

Our people have suffered for far too long it is now time to invest in our healing and education. By strengthening ourselves we are Strengthening Our Nation.
